Our Impact
YRES successfully connected with children and parents through engaging LEGO-based STEAM activities and community outreach. Students showed strong enthusiasm and creativity, while parents expressed interest in learning more about YRES opportunities. The team's adaptability, volunteer support, and willingness to engage families helped create a positive experience and strengthen connections within the local community.
Ventura Park Public School
On June 4, 2026, YRES participated in the VenturaFest school family event in Thornhill. Team members Fei Fei, Ana, and Megan hosted an interactive booth where children explored LEGO robotics, art, science, and creative building activities. Families also had the opportunity to learn more about YRES programs and upcoming summer camp opportunities. During the event, the team adapted quickly when one of the robot motors stopped working, rebuilding the LEGO robot so the activity could continue. The event also included a generous LEGO donation from a community member, helping make the day both educational and meaningful.
