Through their experience with YRES, Kulsoom and Megha had the opportunity to build confidence, strengthen their communication skills, and represent the organization in a community setting. Reflecting on their journey, they shared, “At the start, we were both really nervous,” but speaking with students and seeing their “passion and drive” helped them become more comfortable, engaging, and confident throughout the day.
They described their time with YRES as a supportive and meaningful experience, sharing that “all our team members were extremely supportive” and were always willing to help when needed. As HR Coordinator / Teaching Assistants, they developed skills in “communicating professionally,” staying calm during busy moments, and managing responsibilities effectively.
Kulsoom and Megha were motivated to work with YRES because of its positive impact on the community. They explained that YRES creates “educational programs that are affordable for all” and helps provide students with opportunities that “set them up for success in the future.”
A memorable highlight for them was meeting students who were passionate about working with children and supporting education. They shared that “being able to represent YRES” and seeing people “light up and love what we are doing” was the highlight of their day.
